Telecel Zimbabwe endeavours to keep the common good in mind in all its operations. It has made a major contribution to Zimbabwean society by bringing down the cost of mobile phones and phone lines, making mobile communication accessible and affordable for almost everyone.

Telecel has been providing donations to these institutions for some time. However, in line with the common continental thrust of Telecel corporate social responsibiity programmes, it expects to channel most of its donations in future almost entirely to the educational sector, with particular emphasis on funding educational programmes for disadvantaged children.

Telecel also provides ad hoc donations from time to time when particular emergencies or cases of special or desperate need arise.

The donations Telecel provides to the Jairos Jiri Children's Centre in Waterfalls has enabled the centre to develop small chicken breeding projects and install a grinding mill, which is used to generate cash by charging people from the neighbourhood for grinding their maize. In this way, the funds provided by Telecel are helping the centre to generate further funds for the benefit of the 43 physically challenged and 25 able-bodied children attending school at the centre.

Ruvimbo School, which caters for children who are mentally challenged and in many cases physically chalenged as well, has used the quarterly financial assistance provided by Telecel Zimbabwe for the operation and maintenance of the centre and its 32-seater bus. The bus is important to the school, as most of the children rely on it to take them from home to school and back again. Because of the nature of their handicaps, the bus is the only means that most of these children have of coming to school.

Money donated to the Shungu dzeVana Trust helps the trust pays school fees for children whose parents would otherwise be unable to send them to school. Telecel provides the trust with a grant, which is disbursed on a quarterly basis.

Sibantubanye Special School caters for children between the ages of six and 18 with conditions such as Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. It has an enrolment of 53 children from Bulawayo's western suburbs.

All of the establishments for the elderly that Telecel assists have been receiving quarterly grants from Telecel.

Angeline Vere has over 15 years legal experience in commercial law, Telecommunication, broadcasting regulatory and administrative law. She has worked for the Attorney General's office, TelOne and the Regulatory Authority before moving to Telecel in 2004.

Angeline holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours degree (LLB) from the University of Zimbabwe, Masters of Laws (LLM) from the University of South Africa and an ACCA Diploma in Finance and Accounting.

Haitham Assal, Chief Technology Officer

Haitham brings has more than 15 years experience in the Telecommunications industry from multinational companies like Orascom, Telecom , Ericsson, Orange, Mobinil and Alcatel. He has worked in various capacities and one of his roles have included being the Director of Network Engineering overseeing operations like Wind Mobile (Canada), Wind (Italy), Djezzy (Algeria), Mobinil (Egypt), Telecel Operations in (Namibia, Zimbabwe, CAR and Burundi), Alfa (Lebanon), Mobilink (Pakistan), Banglalink (Bangladesh), Koryolink (N Korea), Tunisiana (Tunisia) and Wind (Greece). He also worked for Ericsson, North Africa as Head of Network Strategy and Business Development.
During his career Haitham has gained experience working with various technologies which include: Mobile & Fixed Access, Site Solutions, Transmission, Data NW, Core Network and IMS. Mr Haitham Assal holds Master of Science degree in Telecommunications and a Business Management Diploma.

Nkosinathi Ncube – Chief Commercial Officer  

Mr Nkosinathi Ncube is a holder of a Bachelor of Business Studies (Finance) which he attained in 1996 and also a Master of Business Administration (Leadership & Marketing) attained in 2004.

Nkosinathi has 15 years’ work experience having worked in the banking sector for seven years (Standard Chartered Bank Limited as Branch Manager from 1998 to 2001; NMB Bank Limited as Assistant General Manager – R&D from 2001 to 2005).  Regionally, Nkosinathi worked for FNK as Innovation Specialist in the Core Banking Solutions from 2006 through to 2007 then Absa (Barclays Group) as Head of Internet & Mobile Banking Services from 2007 through to 2010. Nkosinathi has work experience in the telecommunications sector having worked for Econet Zimbabwe from 2010 to March 2013 where he worked as the Founding Executive of EcoCash (MFS) before joining Telecel Zimbabwe in March 2013 as MFS Director.

In his career, his significant achievement include the development and launching of EcoCash at Econet Zimbabwe which is rated the second most successful MFS project in Africa after MPESA.  He also headed the project team at NMB Bank Limited that set up the Commercial Banking Division which culminated in the bank being converted from a merchant bank to being one of the most successful local commercial banks in Zimbabwe.

Deputy Chief Technical Officer - Winfred Musangeya  

Ms. Musangeya has over 24 years experience in the telecommunications industry in Zimbabwe. She commenced her career as Manager External Plant Planning & Development where she was in charge of planning and implementation of the external plant network for the Mashonaland & Manicaland provinces of Zimbabwe for the then Post and Telecommunications Corporation.

In 1998, at the inception of Telecel Zimbabwe Ms. Musangeya was appointed Chief Engineer responsible for Network Planning and Engineering. She is currently the Technical Director in charge the planning, deployment, operation and maintenance of Telecel Zimbabwe's cellular mobile network.

She holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering from the University Of Zimbabwe (UZ), a Masters in Engineering in Telecoms (Australia) and a Masters in Business Administration (UZ).

Obert Mandimika has 9 years experience in the telecommunications industry at senior level. He joined Telecel Zimbabwe in 2002 as a Marketing Manager.

Donald is one of Telecel’s first employees having joined the business during the formative stages. His first appointment was with Kestrel Holdings as an assistant to the MD and Chairman of Empowerment Co-operation. He then worked as a member of the team which helped secure a mobile network license. Once the license was granted, Donald was appointed assistant to the first MD, Mr. Jim Galan, whose responsibility was to set up the operation.

Donald joined the Commercial Division and rose through the ranks holding several positions which included the position of Regional Manager and Head of Sales & Distribution before assuming his new role as Sales & Distribution Director.

Donald holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies with the University Of Zimbabwe as well as various post graduate qualifications. He has more than 12 years experience in the mobile communications industry.

Ezra joined the Telecel Zimbabwe accounts department in 1998. He has worked in different business capacities which include auditing and business analyst roles. Chinake was promoted to Finance Manager in 2009, prior to being promoted to his new role as Finance Director in May this year.

He holds an MBA and has diplomas and certificates in accountancy from various institutions. Ezra has 16 years experience in accounts and other related business fields.

Zodwa has been promoted to the position of Customer Operations Director. Mrs. Chinyenze joined the company in 1999 as Customer Care and PR Executive, and was promoted to the position of Customer Operations Manager in 2002.
She holds a B.A. Hons Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Grad CIS Diploma as well as an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe.

She has extensive experience in Corporate Communications and Customer Operations Management.

Mr. Dzingwa Madzima, who joined Telecel in 2001, has been promoted to the position of Programme Management, Quality & Operational Excellence Director. Madzima has held managerial positions in the business systems and project management fields.

Dzingwa holds a Diploma in Mobile Communications and is a certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

He has over 16 years experience in business systems integration, quality management systems auditing and project management.

Tendayi is a holder of a bachelor of honours degree in Geoinfomatics and Survey from the University of Zimbabwe, a Microsoft certified professional and a holder of a Masters in Business Administration degree with the University Of Gloustershire (UK).

Tendayi has 10 years’ work experience having worked in the software development industry for three and half years at Afrosoft Corporation where he was part of the Treasury and Asset Management team. Key projects he worked on include Alpha Asset Management, Purpose Asset Management, Datvest Asset Management and ABC Asset Management.

He was key in application development in Econet for 6 years with notable achievement in the integration of electronic airtime distribution, mobile banking, ecocash, and other innovative products under the Econet stable. He also implemented the point of sale in the Econet group, the implementation and integration of Oracle eBusiness suite within the Econet group of companies. He has regional experience in Econet Telecom Lesotho and Econet Wireless Burundi.

Marketing Director – Octivius Mutsa Kahiya    

Octivius has over 15 years experience in sales and marketing, 8 of which are at senior level. Octivius is an all-rounder marketing professional with skills in designing and implementing telecom marketing strategies in developing markets.

He has previously worked for Ingersoll Rand Pvt Ltd; Aurex (division of Reserve Bank), Art Corporation, Firstel Cellular and Roshan Telecommunication Development Company. Prior to joining Telecel in September 2012, Octivius was Marketing Director for Etisalat Afghanistan.
Octivius is a Chartered Marketer (CIM, UK). His qualifications include: an MBA; B. Tech Degree (Marketing); Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM, UK) and Graduate Diploma in Marketing (IMM, RSA).

Findros has more than 20 years of experience, sixteen of which were at a senior and executive management level, in the various sectors on the economy. Prior to joining Telecel Zimbabwe, Findros was the Group Human Resources Director for TSL Limited. He has also been the Group Human Resources Executive for Interfresh (Pvt) Ltd, Human Resources Manager for ZFC Limited, Chloride Zimbabwe and Kadoma Paper Mills amongst his previous portfolios.

Findros holds a BSc Honours in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe and has done a Masters in Occupational Psychology up to dissertation level with the same institution.
